Cork Factory Hotel—home to Cork Collection—is a destination for hundreds of weddings and events each year.

With more than ten years of wedding planning experience, Cork Factory Hotel's wedding sales manager Jenny Mercandetti knows a thing or two about how to plan the perfect day. That's why we asked her to share her top three tips for the months and weeks leading up to your wedding:

I. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Whether it's a Monday or the most important day of your life—like, say, a wedding—sometimes things just don't go as planned. More often than not, these things are completely out of your control. It's important to recognize that while you may have done everything you can to make sure your t's are crossed and i's are dotted, unexpected things do happen and it's best to just roll with it. (We know, easier said than done.) The team of vendors you have in place for your wedding day will do everything in their power to minimize the damage that any unexpected occurrences may cause. (And they may even have the ability to fix the problem so you don't even notice something's wrong in the first place.) Trust your team of vendors and just focus on enjoying your day!

II. Don't put off what you can do today.

Don't wait until the last minute to create place cards, pick out and gift wrap favors, choose song lists for your DJ, and finalize other details that are crucial to your big day. Cross as many things off of your wedding "to do" list as quickly as possible so that you can spend the last few weeks working on anything that may change unexpectedly (and hopefully relax knowing that you have completed your checklist).

III. Trust your gut instincts.

One of the first decisions you will make during the wedding planning process is deciding which vendors to use. When selecting any vendor, make sure you feel comfortable with him or her. It's important to choose vendors not just by what they say, but by whether or not you feel that you can wholeheartedly trust them with your day. Beyond that, when it comes to the details of your day (e.g., flowers, centerpieces, etc.), don't settle for what's on trend or what people tell you to choose. Choose details that you like. Details that represent who you are. Making decisions that you are most comfortable with will set you up for an experience that will be stress-free, unforgettable, and fun!
